About Leo Ormonde

I was a freelance editor with a fondness for strange voices, forgotten manuscripts, and good cannoli. I didn’t set out to become the biographer of a criminal dynasty. But one afternoon, while looking for bin bags, I found a diary.

Luca Moretti’s diary, to be precise. Hidden in a filing cabinet I hadn’t opened in years.

I read it. I published it. I thought that would be the end.

Then Gianna Ricci got in touch. Not a request, more of a warning.

Now I appear to be the reluctant archivist of The Family Business, an international legacy built on silence, systems, and suspiciously good marinara.

I don’t invent their stories. I just bring them to light.

And I sleep with one eye open.

Diary of a Reluctant Mafia Boss

Polite. Bookish. Accidentally in charge of organised crime.

Memoirs of the Real Gianna Ricci

Powerful. Precise. Not quite done yet.

About the Author

Leo Ormonde was a freelance editor, the sort who enjoyed unusual voices, forgotten manuscripts and the occasional handwritten letter. Then he found Luca Moretti’s diary in a filing cabinet and everything changed. One book led to another. Gianna Ricci arrived with a manuscript that was equal parts memoir and warning. Others followed, each encrypted, redacted, or smelling faintly of marinara.

Ormonde doesn’t invent these stories. He ‘finds’ them, (is forced to) assembles them, and brings them to light. His edited works, so far, Diary of a Reluctant Mafia Boss and Memoirs of the Real Gianna Ricci, form the beginnings of a growing archive of uncomfortable silence, dangerous systems, and suspiciously good food.

Leo Ormonde is a pen name.
